FOR SHAME!
[TO TUB EDITOR.] Sir,—The accounts of the " manhunt" make one blush for shame. The folly and incompetence of the police are amusing enough, were it not. that onr paid custodians might be expected to show a little common sense and presence of mind. But when it conies to their inciting our young men to such acts of cruelty as " hunting " a man, who is suspected of snatching a lady's handbag, and organising a lallxe at which a sight of the wretched game provokes cries of " shoot Mm," it is time that suoli exhibitions of cowardice were called as they deserve, brutal rfud demoralising.—l aiu etc., Ai,i:x.
