MATARAWA v. EXCELSIORS. , i The return match between the ( above tennis, played 011 the Oval ( yesterday, was decided on the first . innings, the visitors winning by 18 j runs. The Excelsiors made 42 in their first attempt, 3, Wiokcns and Jlason being top with nine each. The Matarawa men responded with GO, H. Knov/les being highest with a well-played 14 to his credit. The W.F.C.A. team travelled to Greytown and met the Feathorston C.C.and played a match on tlioGreytown ground, kindly lent by the Greytown Club for the occasion. The match resulted in a very close finish the W.F.O.A, winning by 5 runs. The principal scorers for the Featherston Club wero Frith 36 and Bennett 14,th0 former punishing the bowling very severely. Richards 21 and Cooper 11 were the top scorers for the W.F.C.A. Very great interest was taken in the match and as the W.F.C.A team was pitted against players like Frith, the Featherston crack, the Farmers are certainly to be congratulated on their win.
