FIRES SPREADING IN ALL DIRECTIONS. (Prom Our Own Correspondent), Mauriceviile, Wednesday. Considerable anxiety and alarm is felt throughout the Forty-mile Busli at the rapid spread of bush fires. The country around Mauriceville Hastwell, and Eketahuna is all more; or less in flaraes.and it is feared that if the wind, increases much damail? will be- qtone.. 6 ' During yesterday (Wednesday) Wd last night, owing to the steady breeze, the fires spread at an aloinv ing rate. Unto the present there is no eerioiia damage reported except in the Qase of Mr D. M, Brooks, of the JfauriceviHe ii me kilns, -who jester(lay had some fifty cords of firewood buvned, , *te is anxiously looked for, failing which the loss to settlers will he exceptionally severe,
