The chief event is, of ™urse, the 25 Mile Bicycle Kace, which is set down for 5 p.m., while the Mile Bicycle Race is to be run an hour earlier. Reynolds is thought to be ut moral for the Mile and Pithershoulil win the longer distance, i Most of the Canterbury, Wauganui Manawatu, and Wellington representatives left by the morning train for the South, a good send off being accorded tbem. At the gates on Friday and Saturday almost 220 guineas was taken, which with entrance fees etc., will swell the proceeds to £260. This should leave the Napier Association a fair profit over the gathering. Mile Bicycle:—Pitlier i, Jones 2, Hay ward 3. Pitlier won by a wheel ami a half, Time 2min 26 3-ssccs. 25 Mile Bicycle Race—Pitlier 1, Jones 2, Hay ward 3. This was a great race. The Canterbury man waited on the others until within half a mile, when he came to the «'ont, and Pitlier and Jones fought groat battle, the former winning by a wheel. Time, b'7 rains 23 2-5 sees. Reynolds, the record Aucklander, met with an accident to his machine.
