Shanghai, February 18. A rising against foreigners is threatened in Formosa, and British warships have been despatched to tho island. After Admiral Ting's suicide the terms of surrender were concluded, and all the Chinese iu Weihaiwei were released and marched through the Japanese lines into tho country. Tho foreign residents wore placed on board the Japanese warships and will probably be landed at Cbefoo. (Received, February 18,7.30 a.m.) Shaxuhai, February 18. The news of the suicide of Admiral Ting and two other high Chinese officers is confirmed.
