SAW MILL TRAFFIC.
AN IMPORTANTPROPOSAL,
A meeting of the Wheel-tyre Bylaw Committee of the Wairarapa North County Council, was held la ß fc evening in the Council Chambers. Present: Crsvonßeden (chairman), Maunsell, Cockburn-Hood, and Groves. j
Cr von Reden moved and Cr Jfaunsell seconded that the Council be recommended to adopt the Wheel-tyro By-laws hitherto in force in the County, subject to the amendments of the Public Works Act and in accordance with the ruling of tho Supreme Court,and the Bylaw be submitted to the County Solicitor for revision in these respects,
Cr von Eedeu moved and Cr Maunsell seconded that tho Council bo recommended to fix a fee of £3O for each bench of one circular saw trafficking on the roads under the jurisdiction of the County, or a fee of £GO if a breaking down saw only is used for turning out bulk timber. Cr Cockburn-Hood proposed as an 1 amendment that tho fee per bench of one circular saw bo £4O.
Cr Smith seconded the aurernb ment which was lost, the original motion boing carried, Crs von Roden and CockburnHood .wcm appointed to wait on the County Solicitor with I'eferejjco to the matter. .
