THE SCHOOL EXCURSION.
A wire has been received by Mr A. W. Hogg, M.H.R., from the Hon. the Premier, as follows " Satisfactory railway arrangements liavo bceu made for the children's excursion to-morrow. The House of Representatives, the Legislative Council, Parliamentary Buildings, and the Museum will be open to the visitors. I will also communicate with the Electric Light Company, and feel sure they will be only too pleased to meet- your wishes. 1 am afraid the Ellen Ballance cannot be spared, and it would not be advisable, under any circumstances, to commence placing the steamer at the disposal of picnickers, for if we do it for one district, wo would have to do it for the whole, and as it is she could only carry a few at a time, and this alone would create dissatisfaction. You may rest assured that nothing will be wanting on my part to make the trip as enjoyable as possible.—R.J.StDDON."
