I'm; ([nestion of religious instruction atthe Jlastei ton Public School was discussed last evening, and it was pleasing to notice the tolerance which some members of tho Committee displayed. Parents generally, we believe, are quite in favour of such an influence being associated with the School life of their children, They do not uiind whetlur the lesson be taught by the Rev. Mr Yorke, the Rev. Mr Dukes, or the Hev. ilr Wood, as long as it is given. It is doubtful how far under our present system, religious instruction can be taken, but the local School Committee is right in availing itself of the present opportunity.
