JrO.XTHLYJfEETrNG. The regular monthly meeting of the Miisterton School Committee was held last evening. Present, Messrs ft Feist (Chairman), Z. M. Hoar, T. Dixon, AY. M. liastliope, \V. i'ragnell, W. Morris, and T. Wagg. MI.NTTES. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed, THKASUKEII's lIKI'OKT. SCHOL.UISIIIr, The Secretary of the Town Lands Trust wrote stating thai a scholarship grant of £lO per annum, for two years, had hcen made to Miss A. M. Brown. MAIN SCHOOL The head master (Jlr W. H. Jack- ■ son) reported that with 002 children on the roll, the average attendance for the past month had been <I!I0, beiug a per ccutage of 81. The school re-opened on the 28th January, with a good attendance. The Chairman said il was satisfactory to iind thai Mr Darroch had resumed his old position on tho teaching staff, and that the repairs to the lire places had been carried out. infant's school. Miss Keeling reported that work was resumed on January 28th, with all the teaching staff, and a fair attendance. Fifteen scholars were transferred to the main school, and thirteen new scholars admitted. The average attendance for the past two weeks had been 70, with 102 on the roll ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed for paymentli. T. Holmes, £5 2s 9d; I'. Wallace, 10s. BOABD ELECTION, The Chairman said several circulars had bccii received from candidates for seats on the Hoard, asking for support. Tho circulars from candidates, were taken as read. Mr Daniell proposed, that Messrs Blair, liradey, ana J. liobertson bo supported by tho Mastcrton Committee, Mr Morris seconded the motion, Mr I'ragnell moved, as an amendment, that Messrs Blair, Bradey and Newman obtain their support.
