CRICKET.
[llY DAMOCI.ES.] Some time ago a dispute occurred between the Matarawa and Featherston Cricket Clubs, as to whether or not it was correct to call time before the completion of an over, no wicket having fallen. The Cricket Association applied to the Wellington cricket authorities, Messrs Ashbolt and Holdship, who state that no rule on tho matter exists, but in England and elsewhere thecustom has always been to allow the completion of an over, unless a man is out, before calling tinio. If a wicket is down just at the call of time, the two minutes allowed for another man to come in, would, under the rules havo elapsed before time was up. If a man were out two minutes or less before time, time should be called under the same rule.
