Mr James Robertson, a candidate for one of the vacant seats at the Education Hoard, publishes an expression of his views in another column. They arc such as arc likely to be received with favour in this district, where there exists a strong, feeling in the direction of giving local Committees the fullest power, it point which is a marked feature in his platform, His recommendations, too, for a National Series of School books, and an interchange of Inspectors would, if adopted, be a decided improvement upon the existing system. It is almost a novelty lo find a candidate for a seat at the Education Hoard, expressing broad and decided views, and Mr Robertson is at least entitled to receive from our School Committees a careful consideration of those which he advances. It is somewhat a disappointment to us that there appear to be no strong candidates residing in the Wairarapa on the present occasion, and that this district is likely to have to depend to a great extent on the good officers of Wellington residents.
