LATEST PAHIATUA NOTES.
(By Tolegraph, Own Correspondent) Pahiatua, Thursday. Several members of the Pahiatua Operatic Society met last evening, It was decided to carry on the Society. A meeting of the Committee will be held on Thuisday evening next. The first pile of the Mangatainoka Bridge was driven yesterday. Mrs J. Vile (Mayoress), struck tho first blow. Nearly all the Councillors were present, and there was a good attendance of the public. The town was enveloped in smoko yesterday. Hard rain fell last night, and it is fine to-day. • i
