Tin: Mnstortmi.Borough Council has adopted Thursday afternoon as the statutory half-holiday. This was a foregone conclusion after the broad intimation given by the Mayor some short time back. We would like to see a petition signed in Mastcrton for the repeal of the Shop and Shop 1 [ours Act. It is injuring the trade of the town whether the statutory half-holiday be on Thursday or Saturday. Cr Cullen's' suggestion that Monday morning he constituted a half-holiday was a good one if it were not ullm rim Anything that is sensible is usually precluded by law now-a-days.
