Loxiiox, January 27. Mr Gavin Scott, of Sydney, who is visiting Europe in connection with the development of tho export of Australian timber, is satisfied with the prospects. He says it is imperative that the timber should bo shipped well seasoned and I'reo from gum and veins, and it should be sawu true, and allowance nmdo for shrinkage on the voyage. The Httilaman says it is natural that the shareholders in the Bank of England, should protest against being used for the purpose of making secret loans to the Government.
