AFFAIRS IN FRANCE.

Excitement over the election of the President is quieting down. M. Fauro is said to be strongly sympathetic with England. On the 20th M, Bourgeois was summoned to form a Cabinet in succession to M. Dupny, who resigned. He undertook the task and gave forth as his programme, pledges of concentration and republic union. Two days later he announced that ho was unable to complete the Ministry and attributed his non-snecess to the fact that several of his colleagues objected to a progressive Income Tax.
At the request of tie President lie renewed his effort but finally abantie task yesterday.
