THE FLOODS. (Received Jan. '24,11.80 a.m.). Stdxky, January 24. Twocoasting vessels—thosckoonor Phillip's Palfrey,and the ketch Dewdrop—are reported to be missing. Great destruction of property by floods lias taken place in the Maitlaiul districts.
Railway communication is still interrupted, and the Morpeth District is one stretch of water for miles.
Nota farm Imsescaped inundation. Ainan named C'orbelt was drowned by the Hood in the Manning river, which is the heaviest since 1876. Farms are submerged in all directions, but tho water is now receding, and fifteen inches fell in three days. The Newcastle miners funds are exhausted. The Secretary states that after the payments for strike allowance to-morrow, nothing will be left.
Hoiiart, January 24 The Order Paper of the Postal Conference shows there are scventysoven subjects for discussion.
