CORRESPONDENCE.
THE PARK OVAL. [TO ran EDITOR.] Sir,—Allow me through tho columiiß of jour paper to express my great admiration of tbe very generous and sportsmanlike action of the Masterton Football Club in endeavoring to spriDg a mine upon the rival Senior Club of this town with regard to the Park. Oval. Their Btrategj in trying to break up an opposition body by leasing over their heads the ground which the Red Star Club has used for years, whilst at the same lime owning a Recreation Roserve of their own, was brilliant in the extreme and worthy of the minds from which it emanated. Permit me to say, Sir, that this dog in the manger policy exercised by the Masterton Football Club will not be readily forgotten, and will nottend to improvo the relations existing between the two Clube during the coming season,—l am, etc., H. Wilsone, Capt. Rod Star Football Club.
[Wo have some reason to believe that the Masterton Football Club contemplated giving up their old ground, and arranging with the Park Trustees for a new one. Had the arrangement come olf they would have been prepared to share the ground with the Red Stars.— En. W.D.T.]
