A Strange Occurrence.
(By Telegraph.—PressAssociation) Wellington, Thursday.
_ Captain Killam, of the barque Star of tho East reports having experienced a most unusual aerial disturbance on tho Bth January just off Cape Campbell.
After a few (lashes of lightning! which prompted the Captain to shorten sail quickly, the vessel found herself in the centre of somo extraordinary electrical disturbance, which lasted two and a half hours.
Tho vessel's head went to all points of the compass, and at all times sho was carried round in a circlo as if in a whirlwind.
Captain Killam says he has never had swell an experience during tha thirty years he has been at sea.
