A waterspout at Parawa, near Kingston, bored a great liolo in the face of a mountain, carrying trees, rocks, and clay in its train, and when it reached the flat coliutry it Bpread out and covered a portion of Gibson's farm with debris, also covored the railway line and filled tho creeks leading into the Mataura River, A rabbitor was caught in the tail of a storm and covered with red clay. Tho sun was shining brightly a minutes before tho occurrence. • Ddxedis, Tuesday. At the Police Court Robeit Wilson, a young man charged with serous larrikinism at Morgan's Baths, Frederick street, was sentenced to two month's imprisonment. Accused, when intoxicated, seized a boy aged five and threw him into the water a depth of 4ft, and left him there. But for the timely assistance of Borne bystanders, the boy would probabiy hare beon drowned.
