THE HALF-HOLIDAY QUESTION.
[TO THB EDUOR.] Sib,—One of the first good results ■ that would probably follow the fix- ' ing of Saturday as the statutory half-holiday would be the establishment of a Saturday line of coaches from Masterton to Castlepoint. This would enable our over-worked business men and their families to occae- ; sionally enjoy the advantage of o ; 'lay at tho seaside, which is not 1 within the reaoh of many at present. I hare spoken to many farmers and ' they have all said that if Saturday is fixed, in less than a month thoy would not know the difference—or feel it any more than tbcy do Thursday now. It is a question of others doing unto us as they would have us do to them, and our Monde will ! stand by us when they know and 1 realise what a boon the Saturday j half-holiday would be to all Shopuen. | 15th January, 1895,
