Wellington Stock, Horse ana Produce Markets. A. G. Taine and Co. report on tho markets for the week ending Jauuary 11th, as follows-.—Offing to the holidays our country sales have been interrupted, and wo have not yet resumed full operations. Fat Sheep—Tho market for fat sheep, or shoep of any kind, is decidedly weak, and lower prices have had to be accepted all round. Wo quote good lines of fat wethers, 9s to 9s (id; medium weights, 7s to 8s j fat lambs aro in good demand for freezing, but arc scarce; we could place large lines at good prices. We quote store wethers, 2 and -t-tooth, Cs to 7s (id. Atour sale at Lower Hutt on Tuesday, cattle sold particularly well, resulting in a clearance, except a few dairy cows, / Werners', 20s to 255; yearlings, £2 te &£2 10s; 2-year-olds, £3 to £3 10s; bill"flocks, £4 os; old cows, at low prices; store wethers, with few ewes, 6s to 0s fid; Bomncy rams, f.m, £2 2s; store pigs, slips, 13s to los; and big demand for more young sows, 21s. HonsES,—We held our usual horse sale on Saturday. The entry was fair bnt nothing worth special mention. Wc . offered on behalf or a Wairarapa client, a pair of nice buggy horses which were passed in unsold, but have since been placed privately, Bidding was rather dull, except for anything like good exhorses, which always command attention. We sold a useful draught gelding for £l2; light harness horses at £5, £O, £7 10s; and hacks at late quotations, lieally good harness horses aro in demand, also express horses. Good heavy draughts arc unobtainable. Wc expect a draft shortly from the country, which .should fill the demand for a time. Wool.—Our next sale in "Wellington will be held on 18th January. The market shows signs of steadying after the late severe fall, and wc think tho lowest point lias now been reached. Shkkpskiks.—All coining forward arc quickly brought up at full present market rates, but the late drop in wool has of course to be allowed for. We from 3d to id per lb for good well Aroolcd skins. • ' Ghaik.—Chick wheat, 2s 3d to 2s 6d; oats from Is 6d to Is lOd.
