(To The Editor W.D. Tims).
Sir,—l was much surprised to read a statement in yesterday's issue of the Daily Times that a challenge had been accepted from the Mana> watu Union to piny a match with tho Wairarapa Association, and also the publication of the names of tho Wairarapa team. A challenge has been received from Manawatu, but before accepting it, it will he necessary to find out whether the prominent Wairarapa cricketers will be able to play, as tho match will be played during Christmas wee) - As far as lam aware the matcn committee have not yet selected an eleven, In a letter written a few days ago to Mr Bono, I asked his opinion, in the event of the match taking place, of the team published yosterday, and have been awaiting his reply before communicating with Mr Booth, tho other selector. I was therefore greatly astonished at the publication of the eleven. By publishing this letter you will oblige, I am, etc, Thos, J, Rowsb. Hon. Sec, Wairarapa 0. Association.
