The Corean War.

Early in the campaign Russia and England forbade Japan operating against Shanghai or upon Yang-tse-Kiaug River. Rwoiilly there wan cause tu fear that Japan intended to break the pledgos alio had given upon the matter, and this was the reason of the display of (he British fleet under Admiral Freeniautle At Chusan. A large Russian fleet also assein bled at Chefoo for the same purpose (Received December 20,10.45 a.m.) Shanhoai, December 20. Whon tho Japanese, entered Port Arthur they found the heads of their slain comrades with the noses and ears cut oif, hanging from a rude arch across the main street. Tho fearful sight infuriated tho Japanese soldiers, who took revengo by killing every man, woman and child they could discover in tho town, giving no quarter whatever. Horrible details of the butchery have been published.
