Mr Casey, agent for the New Australian settlement iB appealing for funds to send several families to Paraguay whose husbands have al- ■ ready gone there. These families have suffered considerably through the collapse, and have been left practically destitute; and the organisation hore is absolutely without funds. (Received Dec. 20,10.45 a,m.) Adkuide, December 20.
The Governor has received a communication from the British Legation in Buenos Ayres notifying that twenty families in thelfov Australia settlement there, are destitute. The letter says that if the peoplo are a£» I forded means to return to Australia it will obviate much suffering, especially amongst the women and children,
