Mr George Heron' Returned.'

Considerable interest was taken in the Masterton Mayoral election

yesterday, and the friends of each candidate worked hard to bring voters- to the poll. A considerable

number of residents assembled'to

The poll showed'that Mr Heron's policy was preferred to his own on this occasion, and he was satisfied. He was hot disheartened and should at'sonlb future time again oiler himself for the position, (Applause.) Several cries of "Hornblow," " Where's Hornblow" followed, but Mr Hornblow did not come forward, Mr H. Marsh, however, attempted to make a speech presumably on Mr Hornblow's behalf, but the crowd refused to hear a word from him, and amidst great confusion ho indignantly gave up the attempt.
