After considerable disens? siou the Council decided to agree, to, contribute one-fifth to the coat of maintenanceandrepairs,theßorough haying control of tho bridge,; If the Borough' accepts the compromise this disturbing elomont in local politics will bo finally removed, but if they bold out for a third of tho coßt of maintenance from the County, tho matter" will be hung up until decided by a commission. This latter course would meiih a-delay in the erection of; the bridge possiblyfor 12 months, and might moan the location of' the' main railway station at Mangatainoka instead of at Scarborough.'
