BOATING FATALITY.

Wellington, Monday. Balista Maestri, a shepherd on Mana Island, left in a boat with two dogs for the mainland on Friday, Tho boat has been found smashed up and dogs swam backtO Maua, but though a search has boon made no sign of Maestri can bo found and be is supposed to bo drowned, He was in tho employ of MrVella, who escaped from the wreck of the Wairarapa, and tho latter had just taken home thirty pounds to Maestri's wife and family, who live in the, j Tyrol.
