FEATHERSTON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent). Friday, Shortly after two this morning ! the resilience of Mr J. Hall, a four roomed cottage, opposite Mr Bart's Store was destroyed by tire, and only a very few things woro saved, All personal efforts by Mr Hall, his wife and family, were lost. The fire is supposed to havo originated from the chimney in the kitchen, as it was here that the flames were discovered. Mr Hall had no insuraneo on his furniture. The building is said to bo insured ns it belonged to the Greytown Building Society. Yesterday afternoon tho fnneral of tho late Mr Chas Worslcy took place and was attended by about, thirty of the frionds and rolationsof the deceased. The burial service being conducted by the Rev. A. V. Grace.
The following will represent Featherston in their match with .Morrison's Bush, to be pluycd at Ecatherston to-morrow. Feast (2), Bennett-, Sussex, .Langdeu, Hiley, Tocker (2), Pinny, Greatbatch, Keys, Emerg. Tiddswell. Mr E. Louis, our clock maker.has lately entered new premises and has hung out his sign, a dummy clock i about two feet in diametor. The said clock is causing a mild excitement, as Eeatherston does not abound in such luxurios ns these,
