(Prom Our Own CowesponcLnt). :' The 9th being the annivers aiy of the opening of tho TaueriiHaJU, was celebrated by a concert and .dance.' The concert was but sparsely attcndcd, in fact people seem to be getting sick altogether of concerts, ,-and it would bo a good thing if tho raftn . ngementof tho Hall could'arrange ' fiff a change of some sort; one in which tho concert element would be ' altogether left out. After tie concert a goodly number stayed, to the dance, which was certainly the most successful part of the entertoLnent, The concert consisted of oyer (hires by the Taueru Orchestra, songs 1 by Mrs Parsons, Misslnnes, Messrs lees and Gwilliam; recitations by Mr. Chatwin, and comic songs bj Messrs Dodchin and Brown, and'a topical jduet by Messrs' Brown nnd Hees. I All the comic songs were encored. On Saturday last tho 1 tifle Club fired for Mr Pownall's medal, which was won by Mr R. Venne.U, Messrs Morgan and J. McHattie bifeing ranncrsup, ■ \
