Messrs Lowes and lorns Stock Sale report.
Messrs Lowes and lorns report at their fortnightly sale yesterday sheep were fairly well represented, mutton being rather plentiful, all without the exception of one pen changing hands the rates considering the long spell of dry weather, being firm and in cattle, stores and dairy stock were well represented, beef being absent, all selling at rates equal to former sales. Pigs, entries were confined to small sorts. Livery Plant on account of Mrs Searle was submitted the bulk of which sold at fair prices. Sheep, fat ewes, 9s 6d; dry ewes in the wool, 6s 8d j ewes and lambs (best Eomney) to 14s 6d; poor quality, 8s 7d. Cattle :2i year steers, 78s 6d; 2 year, 68s to 71s; 18 months, 58s;. yearlings, 40b ; calves, 27s to 29s fid; 2 year heifers, 62s 6d ; dairy stock in profit, £5 to £6 10s; poor, 50s. Pigs: 5s to 10s 6d. Livery Plant: buggies, £l4 10s to £35; horses, £8 to £10; Harness, £2 to £5; sundries, fair figures. The drag sold privately at a satisfactory figure.
