(Received Oct. 26,1 a.m.) Mkmioukse, October 25, As the result of the enquiry into the wreck of lbcßodoiido,tlicMarine Board has suspended Captain Hill's certificate for 12]nonths,aiidordored him to pay £2O towards the costs of the enquiry, The charge against the second mate the Court held had not been proved. (Received Oct, 26,12,15 p.m.) Meluouiixe, Oct. 26, The Court of Enquiry held that Captain Hill had not made sufficient allowance for the currents marked on the chart, The evidence showed that the second mate did not have access to the charts, and was unawaro of the vicinity of Pollock Reef. The Court did not express any opinion as to the existence of an unknowu current, as the Captain failed to secure the ship's books, though ho was 15 hours on board after the accident, they also pointed out that no elfort had been made to beach the vessel or rig a jury ruddor by which ship and cargo might have been saved. They recommended that the Captain should be granted a first officer's certificate.
