(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) Pahlatua, Saturday. A meeting of tlie Committee of the Pahiatua Jockey Club to held last evening. The programme was amounting to £175, being an increase of £25 from last year. They include Hurdles £2O, Flying £2O, Maiden £ls, Pahiatua Handicap £SO, Local Handicap £l2 20s, Newmarket £l2 10s, Highweight £2O, and Stewards £2O. The date for the next meeting has been fixed for January 4th, A meeting of residents interested in tho appointment of n nightwatchman was held last night,Mr Tosswill in the chair, Thirteen applications were received for the position, and a ballot mmltcd in Adam Dryden being appointed.
