The Wreck of the Rodondo,
Howsfte Passengers Were Saued.

Tho Rodondo's passengers havo arrived here. One passenger declares that the Captain had to call for volunteers to stoke the vessol, and to jettison the cargo. The general impression was that the vessel remained on the reef, but this was not so, us the steamer went clean over it, and it was only her watertight compartments which kept her afloat.
Captain Gollan, apassengcr,states that dhero may have been seven or oigWdrotvned, as there were a number, 'of stowaways on board. ,'riie passengers were in the boats all night, and at daylight went on hoard again, as the steamer was still floating, and Captain Hill believed that he would succeed in gettingfner to port. Tho unfortunate ship did get under way, but her steering gear became disabled, and the crew being unable to repair it, the passengers once moro took to tho boats.
Captain Hill, with half-a-dozen others, remained on board and endeavoured to steer the ship to the island by means of head sails, the object being to beach her, but water was made too fast, and she sank, The firemen are indignant at tho / reflections cast on them, and allege they manned the boats and started the pumps,
