Annual Meeting, s The annual meeting of tho above, at Masterton was held last ovening, Mr C. E. Daniell presiding. Tho report was prosented by the J Secretary (Mr P. A, Hivo) showing c the work done, aftor which: n The ltev, Mr Peryman gavo l ' the congregation an ontlino of his life and work from the time of his a being a student at the "ThreoKings," Auckland, up to his present experience with Home Mission work and - niissiqn stations throughout tho Colony, especially mentioning those of Coromandel, Helensville and r Palmerston in the north, and Tapanui and "Wakatipu in the south, re- t latingmany interesting stories in 2 connection with them. He asked the people to do tho best in their power to support the mission work, which had shown such excellent results in the Colony, Before resuming his seat ho told the congregation he was like the morning star, " a herald of the sun.'- He'would'now I " set" whilst tho sun 'arose. (Applause.) have at least twonty moieHomo Aiissionora in the field throughout tho Colony, but this could not be donowing to want of funds. The Methodißt Church was essentially a < Mission Church, and had a right to bo proud of the help they had shown to tho Mission cause. Tho best country in tho world, every point .considered, he believed was Now ' Zealand. This was his experience, and ho had lived on tho Continent, . and travelled the whole world. He ' thought tho people of Now Zealand had a right to bo thankful for such , a country, and do their utmost to further Divine work amongst her peoplo, for upon this depended the social welfare of any country. His stay in Musterton had been a pleasure to him, and he thought the peoplo wero a contented and prosper- ( ous lot, who bad a right to be proud i of their little town, which appeared to him to bo ono of the best andmost ' go-ahead placeß in the whole Colony. ' He hoped tho peoplo of Mnsterton would keep him in view, when they dispensed with thofaithful servicesof the Eev. MrDukes(laughtor and applause), The Chairman expressed his high satisfaction at the addresses of the speakers, and felt sure that all present did likewise. He would call upon Mr Rive to move a hearty vote of thanks to the Hevs Peryman and Dewsbury. Tho mover remarked that it was a pleasure to be called upon to move a vote of thanks when such able addresses had been delivered. The motion was seconded by Mr Daniell. The Rev Mr Dukes, in putting the motion to tho meeting, said that tho Rev Mr Dewsbury and himself wero old friends, indeed they had "Lived and loved together." Tho motion was carried by acclamation. During the evening Mr Dewsburv sang "Nazareth and "ThoHoly City," his fine rich baritone voice being heard to advantage in these beautiful sacred solos. Miss Williams'presided at the organ, and tho choir rendered valuable assistance.
