Visitors to Mastertou express the greatest surprise at the man ner in which the young men of the town aro allowed to congregate: under certain shop verandahs, and whilst together there use the vilest lauguauo, and utter uncalled-for remarks to the law-abiding citizens who may come within a few feet of them, Apart from this, it stops the progress of the business-going people of the town, many of whom (especially the weaker sex) have to step aside into the muddy gutters of the street, whilst these unfeeling creatures remain glued to the footpath, an immovablo mass of human gossip, The town has made sufficient progress to demand such a courso being taken as will in futuro abolish such a social nuisance,
