-t , (From Our Own Correspondent). Saturday, Tho adjourned meeting of creditors in the estate of E. J. Sear], was held yesterday afternoon, Mr W. 13, Chennells, the Deputy Official Assignee, presiding. Thoro was a vory small attendance of creditors, and on putting the motion: •'That tho dfbtor s offer of Sa in the £. be /'s accepted, proyided that it is paid in cash within one month," it was declared earned, Notwithstanding that tho resolution has been carried, it was pointed out by the U.O.A. that should any creditor make any objection when the resolution is submitted to the District Court for approval, then a full investigation into all mattei'B would bo made, He furthermore informed the debtor that failing tho cash being paid in tho stipulated then tbo whole affair would go into bankruptcy. $ Yesterday a young man named J, Maroney was sent to the hospital, as liq was suffering frqni a thrgat disease, Jlarouey has been looking for work in tho nairarapn for the past few day? with a coiiplo of mates, and having been unsuccessful, they were making their way back over tlip \ .hut as Maronoy got so '■ v bad'tboy brought hjm back into \ Jfeatherston with tho result as above'; r\ yesterdayaft^rnqonaypun^man named Walter Howlandsbn met with a nasty accident'whllo bush falling (orao three miles back from Mr T,
F. Bennett's homostend on Underbill road. Rowlandson and his matej John Mlillor had been working apart all day, and in the aftornoon Rowlandsonfollod a treo,a limb of which caught in a sapling, and on his fell- ' ing tho sapling tho limb came down on him before ho could get clear, with tho result that his leg and thigh were broken, Hero ho lay from three o'clock till near five,until his mato brought assistance, and tlion the poor fellow was not got to Mr Bennett's homestead until near eight o'clock, but here ho received every kindness and attention. Ultimately a bruko was procured, and ho was conveyed to tho Greytown Hospital where ho was attended toby Dr Bey.
