LATEST PAHIATUA NEWS.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent), Pahiatua, Saturday, The Foresters' Annual Ball was held last night in the Public Hall and passed off very successfully, about sixty couples being present. The hall was prettily decorated, and the floor was in line order. Tho first bicycle which overpassed the Tiraumea river was seen on the Makuri Road and yesterday the rider reached Makuri. Tho charge of rape against Georgo Scrimshaw was reduced. to one of common assault, and the accused was fined L2 and costs. I At a meeting of milk suppliers in tho Ballance Settlement last, night, Mr Foster, of the Loan and Mercantile was present. As a result of the meeting,l believe tho settlers havo agreed to close with the company's offer to find money to erect a factory at seven per cent, and give throe ponce per gallon of ton and a half pounds of milk, No other particulars are yet to hand,
