WAIRARAPA TROTTING CLUB

Special Meeting.

A meeting of Stewards of the Wairaropa Trotting Club, was held last evening at tho Club Hotel, Masterton, Mr C, A. Pownall, President, in the chair. Mr Pownall stated the meeting had been called for the purpose of endeavoring to extend the operations of tho Club to Mastevton, slid' also tp see whether a trotting meeting could not be held at'Masterton. Ho had communicated with the natives and Mr W.lorns, and thought they would he able to get the use of tho Akura course for a lower rental than they had to pay for the Carterton Show Ground, On the motion of Mr Corlett, it was resolved that tho Secretary write to tho Stewards of the Akura Racing Club, making an offer for the use of tho courso, '_ Letters were read from the Wellington Trotting Association Wthe Club affiliating with tho Association, stating that the Wollington, Jolim sonville, and Upper Hutt Clubs had done so, and enclosing copies of the rules. .Resolved that the Club affiliate with the Wellington ■': Prom J,E.Henry,stating that'liis feo for handicapping would be #lO 10s per day, Mr Henry's offer wajf declined, and Mr: Shannon was ajf : pointed haudicapperfofthe ClubJr It was resplyed tljafc
