Land Forces.
Loxnox, August 28. The steamer Islam, which was seized at Glasgow by the authority of the Foreign Office, as it was supposed she was a Japanese warship, lias ken tho Japanese Government guaranteeing her neutrality. Shanghai, August 29. It is reported that the Chinese troops, aided by 500 Corcans, have driven the Japanese with heavy loss f rqni Raising, and that they continue {o advance. Other rumours 1 state that the Japanese are linding forces north of 'Jaku, and preparations are being made to march on Pekin. Some 2000 Japancso have been landed at Yalu River with the object of cutting ol? the Chinese communications, Loxno.v, Augusts. The British officials have given up tho Japanese warship Tatsula, which was seized at Aden.
