North Island v. New South Wales. (By Telegraph.—Press Association) Auckland, Wednesday, The North Island team bent New South Wales by 15 points to three. [By Damocles.], As the representative match Wairarapa, v. Bush lias been postponed, the cup fixtures will follow as drawn in the first round. On Saturday the Stars will play Carterton on the Oval, and Grey town and Te Ore Ore at Greytbwn. Carterton defeated the Stars when tlioy last met by five points to four, and as they have now even a stronger team an interesting gamo may bo vouched for. The following team will represent the Starsßacks—Wrigley, Owen, Hudson, Einmett, Remeni, Hansen, Wings—Norton, Wrigley. Forwards—Welch, Wilson, Morris, McKillop, Cochrane, Percy, Pearse.

The New South Wales footballers met' the North Island team this afternoon, Fine weather prevailed, and the match was witnessed by 8000 persons. The game throughout was very rough and stubbornly contested. Soon after the commencement of play Dibbs, one of the visitors' best backs, collided heavily with Roberts, aud received a severe shaking, the play being stopped for several minutes, He was carried off the field, and his place filled by Riley. In the last few minutes of the gamo Roberts had his shoulder put out. Sevoral other players also received slight injuries. J. Arnoil was referee, and Messrs Sefton andMcKenzie line umpires. A.' Bayly was captain of the North Island team, and S. Surman acted in that capacity for the visitors, A. Bayley scored a try and Murphy kicked two goals from free kicks in the first spell. Roberta and W. Bayley scored tries in the second spoil, and P. Lane for N.S.W.

Wellington College beat Wangftinii Collegiate School yesterday by thirty points to eleven. The game is described as one of the finest ever witnessed in Wellington, and the success of tho Wellington College boys is stated to be in a great measure due to tho coaching of Mr T, R. Elliston.
