GREYTOWN NOTES.

Tuesday, _A large numbor of firemen and friends gathered at the Fire Brigade Stfttion last night to entertain four of their mombors who arc leaving the district—Messrs W. Haigh, J. Quk nnd F. Amos, who leave for Coolgardio and Mr Bennett, who leaves ?er Hastings,-and also to cutortain Mr W. Gray, who is venturing into another Held—the Afield of matrimony. This latter gentloman was presented with a marblo clock. Four testimonials wore given, viz., Cnpt, McGnirc pre- . . sented Lieut. W. Huigli's, Mr Kelt King presented Fireman Amos', Lieutenant Dull presented Fireman Quin's, nnd Mr AmosprcsontedFircman Bennett's. Mr 11. Humphries also presented Mr Joe Qnin with a six chambered revolver. The programme besides the speeches and responses consisted of 17 items and a capital time was spent, which lasted

until hours of this morning. Tho sixpenny concert held in the Foresters' Hall last nightwas a most snsgpssful affair, the ball being etarfded. The audience wcro delighted with tho programme submitted. There is to be a wedding at Morrison's Bush to-morrow, tbecontraeting pavties being Mr W, Gray and Miss Leach. The Presbyterians of Martinborough hold their anniversary services next Sunday, when the services will bo conducted by the llev. It. Wood. Tho following Monday a lecture will be delivered by the same gentleman in the Martinborough Church, his subject being "Here and there about London" illustrated with lantern views.
