Annual General Meeting, . The annual meeting of the above, was held at Greytown, on Thursday last, Mr H. S. Warden, Vice-Presi-dent, pi'esiding. An apology from received from the President, Mr J. P, Russell, who was unable, through illness, to bo present, On. the motion of Mr N.Grace, tho report and balance sheet, as already published by üß,weroadopted. Several members spoke congratulating the Club on its excellent financial position. In tho course of a brief summary of the work of the lato racing conference, at Wellington, Mr N. Grace said it was understood by the Conf erouce that tho Metropolitan Committee and tho country delegates should meet and bring in some scheme for tho reduction of race meetings, but tho goncral opinion was that Clubs that had no course of their own and no appointments should be tho first to gquuderthjs. arrangement. Akura would haye to go, and Porjrna, for a, ccrtajnty, fhoy had to abolish six meetings! Wellington had voluntarily givenup one, then there were tho two Hunt Clubs, Porlrua and Akura, tl|6 sixth would either bo Pahiatuaj Martinborough, or oue day off Opaki, Mrßidwill said thedecisionshould be come to as soon as possible as it was unfair to leave clubs in the dark, The Chairman agreed, pointing out, for instance, that it*puld bo a very hard thing.sayfortlSfotahi. Carterton Club to be abolished after going to the oxpenso and trouble of arranging their course aiid erecting appointments.
( In reply to Mr Wilkinson, Mr Grace said he thought the meeting to decide tliis question would be hold before November.
