TENUI NOTES.

Tho funeral of the late Mrs Groves, wife of Mr J, Groves, of Mangapakeha,took place on Sunday last, The. Foresters' attended in large numbers, and settlers came from a long distance. It is said to havebeenthelargestattendedfunoral in the district, Tho Rev. J. Dukes, Masterton, conducted theservice,and feelingly referred to the many kindnesses the deceased had meted out to the Wesleyan body.
A Junior Football Club has been formed in this district, A well attended meeting was held onTnesday night at the Hall, when the following officers of tho C'ib were elected: G. Oliver, captain; A. Rose, secretary; Committee: G, Oliver, W. Owen, J. Collorton, and E. Nicholls. Two or three matches have been arranged.
On Friday evening a dance was held iu tho Hall, Thoro was a fair attendance, and everybody enjoyed Mr Hancock was M.C.
