He was conveyed to his home and I)r Johnston set the limb, With such a' palpable proof beforo them of its danger, it is to be hoped tho boys will put an end to such foolish horse-play. There is a prospect of the revival of Trotting Meetings this year. A meeting has been convened of the members of the Wairarapa Trotting Club for Saturday next. Mr A, Mercer is about to depart for the milder climnto of Sydney. He was a prominent cricketer and footballorin his day, but his health has completely broken down. Mr W. G. King has boon very successful nt the Auckland and Christchurch poultry shows. At the former he ontcred ,I't birds and gained 8 firsts, 2 seconds, 3 thirds, and two special prizes. With four entries at Christchnrch ho gained 2 first, 1 second, 1 third, and 1 special prizes.
