MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Ordinary Meeting.
The regular monthly meeting of the Masterton Borough Council was held last night. Present—His Worship the Mayor, niul Crs Hornblow, Hessey, Dixon, Mutrie, Yates, Cullen, Feist, Chamberlain, and Perry. MIXUTES. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Ileilly wrote asking to be allowed to carry on the duties of Custodian to the Library, The Mayor said that however much they might sympathise with Mr Roilly, they could not deal with his request without calling for applications for the position,—Hesolved to advise Mr Reilly to this effect. He was surohewas only voicing the feelings of the Council in moving this resolution. Most of the Councillors had known Mrs lieilly for the past twenty years, and deeply deplored her death.
Cr Hornblow seconded the motion, the Mayor also adding a tribute to the deceased's memory, The motion was then unanimously earned. WKIOII-IIRIDGB. The Mayor said that the Council could not tako over any street unless it were formed and metalled.
DIXON STIIKKT, Cr Dixon again drew attention to the state of a culvert in Dixon Street,
The Mayor said the matter liatl I not been overlooked, but the OverBeer bad been laid up. MXCOI-X KOAD. '
Cr Dixon thought the metal spread on Lincoln Road was too fine.
