Wellington, Thursday, The County Council Conference has made a further recommendation that the Act be amended to enable pigs to be impounded, Tlmt during the recess, the Government consider tho question of adjusting the boundaries of the Council.
Tlmt in case of deferred payment or perpetual lease land being paid for in scrip, tho Government be asked to pay a third to local bodies.
That provision be made for rating native lands, on the same basis as Europeans. That metal for Country roads, be carried on Government Railways at a nominal cost.
That in cases of casll purchases of lands, not fronting roads constructed by the Government, previous to sale, one third of tho price be dealt with as though sold under lease in perpetuity, and where leased in perpetuity, and deposit paid for survey fees and afterwards credited for rent, one-third to be handed over to the local bodies interested,
