It is asserted in its columns that the Premier while openly supporting Dr Newman's "Women in Parliament" Bill, whispered to Mr Collins, tho member foi ; Cliristchurch, ■ that lie desired it to be killed. If the Premier possesses any character or reputation he will surely reply to an accusation of this kind. Are, we understand that the first man in tho Honse and country is a double faced and deliberate deceiver, who misleads tlio Parliament and people? What appears worse is tho assumption that Mr Seddon openly givos himself away to members of his own party by suggesting to them acts of political depravity and duplicity. What, if the anecdote be true, must Mr Seddon thipk of Mr Collins, and Mr Collins think ofMrSoddon?
