The Gas Committee of the Masterton Borough Council meet on Monday to open tenders for the pipe-truck contract. From facts which have smco been ascertained, it seems that the Eailway Department was wrongly blamed in connection with tho carelessness which led to a young girl being stranded at Masterton the other night, on her way from the Biirnham Industrial School to Mctahunn, The Unilway Department would not, without warning the passenger, have issued a ticket to Ekctahnna by a train that only ran as far as Masterton the-same evening. I n the case in question, the Education Department scut across to the Wellington Station for a ticket to Musterlon (not to Ekctahuna), and one was issued without any knowledge for whom it was intended, or of the circumstances at all.
