A very interesting practice match was played on the Mastertou ground yesterday between all tho available men of the Junior reps and a mixed team of players. Some smart play was witnessed, particularly tho passing between Thompson, Brand and Galloway, of tlio juniors. Sheen, Itutine and Jeffries were the best o' thefew forwards. Emmett, Wrigley, and Thompson (backs), and Cockrane, McKillop, and McKenna (forwards) shone for the nondescripts.

A match was played yesterday on tlio Park Oval between the Oriental Ist and a team front I*ansdowne, which included some extremely good players, and resulted in a win for the Orientals by cloven points to five. The scoring was done by Warner (potted goal), A, Bennett (potted goal), and a try, also secured by A, Bennett after a clever run, which was not converted, McDonald, for Lansdowue, scored a try, which W. Williams succeeded in placing between the posts. For the winners ft Harland in tho forwards shone very conspicuously, especially in the loose. Oroll and Hounslow had hard graft as'centre forwards, B. Bennett, Walker, Wellington,, and Marsh played a good hard game from start to finish. The backs were all' there when wanted, and every ono played reliably. Tho Lansdow'ne men played very hard, McDonald, Knight, Ewington, and Stone in the forwards, and Williams, Thompson and Reynolds in the backs being the 'most brilliant. The game was played in a friendly spirit,' no wrangling being indulged in on .either' side. Mr T. Hawke gave every satisfacreferee.-
