GREYTOWN NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Tuesday. The anminl meeting of the parishioners' of St. Luko's'Church was hold in the Foresters' Hull hist evening, The meeting took the form of a social, a very largo number of church members and friends being present. The Rev. A. V. G race presided, and opened Iho proceedings with an address. The following programme was rendered at intervals during the evening:—Songs; Mr Gant,Miss O'Laughliu,Miss Parsons, Miss G, Tully, Rov. A, V. Grace; clarionot solo, Mr M. 11. Varuham. Refreshments weru handed round during the evening, The roport of the Vestry for year Gliding -Juno 30th, 190-1, wasread, but in consequence of being too lengthy for publishing in my notes, I simply givo a few 'notes of importance in brief, Mention was made of the romoval of the Rev. T. B. McLean and expressing regret at his departure, and of tho excellent work he had accomplished during his short stay. Tho Rev. A, V, Grace has been appointed in his place, and steady and satisfactory progress lias been inado. The Sunday School has been miitch-lmed and an organ purfor sjinio; also improvements to parsonage and grounds. The debt on the Church and Parsonage is being reduced by means of shares in the P.I. and L.Assoeiatiou which are now worth £5717s 4d; amount due on debentures is £l5O, showing a nett liability of £92 2s Sd on all the Ohuich property. Tho total liabilities as shown by Treasurer's statement aro £99 12s 10(1. The indebtedness of the Church is less than it was at this time last year, being now uniler £IOO. It was suggested that special efforts be made to increase the number of subscribers, and that the Curate's stipend should be paid w hen due. A ladies' guild has been formed (Mrs Dr. Spratt, President, and Miss Wyett, Treasurer) and is expected to do good serviiic.The Knell memorial window !isto bp fitted in shortly. MissM. Fuller has been appointed Church organist. The thanks of the Church are due to the retiring ollicers. 1 Tho following officers for the ensuing year were elected: - Dr. W. Bey, clergyman's churchwarden; Mr F. H. Wood, parishioner's churchwarden ; Messrs W. Knell and J. B. Wither, auditors; vestry, Messrs O, Flux, Cr. Wyett, W, F. lioydlwuso, S. Kcedwell, H. Diulding and W, 11. Diddnms.
